Client review, Johannesburg
Four sessions in with a clinical psychologist in Rosebank, and a few things only became clear once the routine settled.
"I booked after a GP referral and honestly expected to be handed a worksheet on day one. Instead the first two sessions were mostly questions about sleep, work and how I handle conflict at home. By the fourth week we had a plan I could actually follow, and I knew which evenings were realistic for me. The waiting room is small and quiet, which mattered more than I thought it would."
Sessions ran on Tuesday evenings, which was the main reason this practice made the shortlist. Medical aid was submitted by the rooms after each visit, and the gap payment arrived as a statement rather than a surprise. The psychologist works in English and Afrikaans, and switched language mid-session when it helped.
Evening slots held steady for four weeks, the intake questions were direct without feeling rushed, and the practice confirmed medical aid authorisation before the second session.
Parking near the rooms fills up after five, and the first available intake was three weeks out. Telehealth was offered as a fallback but not pushed.
This is one person's month, not a verdict on the practice. If you are weighing up a first appointment, the next review covers communication and setup, and the full set sits on the reviews page.
