What we collect, and why

This page explains how ThinkGroup Psychology handles information when you browse the directory, read a review or send us a message. It applies to thinkgrouppsychology.com and to any correspondence you start with us by email or phone.

Information you give us

When you submit a review, claim a practitioner listing or write to us, we receive the name you choose to use, your email address, and any phone number or suburb you include. Review text, ratings on consultation style, waiting times and medical aid handling, plus notes on telehealth or evening slots, are stored as part of the listing record. Please do not include clinical details about anyone else, and avoid naming a practitioner in a way that reveals a third party's health information.

Technical and usage data

Our hosting and analytics tools record standard request data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring link and timestamps. We use this to see which explainers and filters people actually use, to detect spam submissions, and to keep the directory loading quickly. Aggregated figures may be reviewed by editors; individual browsing histories are not used to build profiles for advertising.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies keep filter selections in place while you browse and help analytics distinguish new visitors from returning ones. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; filtering and reading will still work, though some preferences will reset between visits. Where consent is required by law, we ask before setting non-essential cookies and you may withdraw that consent at any time.

Sharing and processors

We do not sell personal information. Data may be handled by service providers that support the site: web hosting, analytics, email delivery and form processing. These providers act on our instructions and are bound to confidentiality. We may also disclose information where a law, court order or regulator requires it, or to protect the site against fraudulent or abusive submissions.

Your rights over your information

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, request corrections, ask us to delete a review or listing, or object to a specific use. Where the law provides for it, you may also request that your data be transferred to another service. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out. Requests are handled within a reasonable period, and we may ask you to confirm your identity before acting.

Depending on where you live, additional protections may apply, including rights under the GDPR for visitors in the EU and under the CCPA for residents of California. We apply the same core standards to every request we receive.

Retention and accuracy

Published reviews stay online while the listing is active, since their value depends on continuity. Contact messages and unpublished submissions are kept only as long as needed to respond and to keep an audit trail of moderation decisions. If you believe a review about your practice is inaccurate, write to us with the specific point and we will review it.
